Monday's report that the Northern Intertie could be operational by October was good news indeed. One can only imagine some of the frustration among the ranks of Golden Valley Electric Association and the contractors associated with this project first plagued by lengthy public process and route debates, then hampered by -- 1/29/2003

Warm winter delays Interior work
Warm winter is delaying work on Interior projects. Golden Valley Electric Association can't go forward with work on setting up towers for the Northern Intertie without 12 inches of frozen soil and 12 inches of snow on the ground. The story was the same -- 11/16/2002

State sues GVEA for causing wildfire 
The state has filed a three-point-six million dollar civil lawsuit against Golden Valley Electric Association in connection with a wildfire last year. The state has also sued the man who piloted the helicopter that state investigators say started the 84 -- 6/25/2002
