Explosions and fire destroy buildings at the Fairbanks
Natural Gas LLC fueling station (located at Point MacKenzie in South Central
Alaska) for LNG trucks that deliver fuel north 430 miles over the Parks Highway
to Fairbanks, Alaska. Two major explosions are visible in this series of
shots from the FAA's Aviation Weather webcam. The first occurred at 7:38 AM and
the second 30 minutes later. Fires continued throughout the night.
The cam sequence ends at 11:18 AM on 12/18/09 (27 hours 40 minutes after the
initial explosion).
